Crockpot Pulled Pork

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!!

Okay, so my favorite part about it is the food. What’s better than pulled pork BBQ with the ease of using a Crockpot?  Nothing.

This guy doesn’t just know how to rock some cut-off Levi’s, he also knows how to rock some pulled pork. This is his easy and wonderful recipe.  He’d probably rather remain nameless.

First, you’re going to need a pork roast, root beer (or other pop– I’m from the Midwest, so it’s “pop”), and spices.

Before rubbing down the meat, I like to whisk my spices together.  I used salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder & seasoning salt, but you can use whatever spices you’d like.

Evenly rub the spice blend on your roast.  I typically then wrap it in plastic and let it sit overnight (obviously refrigerated).

When you’re ready, put the pork in the crockpot, and it’s time to bust out the root beer.  While root beer is my favorite, I’ve also used Coke Zero and Dr. Pepper Ten at different times, just because it’s what I had on hand.

Slowly pour the root beer over the roast.

Cover & cook on low for about 8 hours.

And that’s it, it really is.

When the meat is cooked, pull it into pieces fit for a sandwich, discarding any fat.
